Officer of the Watch Report:
Officers Chuck and Harkin assisted officers Grass and Thomas of 1st shift in the apprehension of smugglers on board the SS Rote Hande in slip B-8. Arrest was made on the authority of the Duty Customs Officer on noting irregular noises from small containers missing from the manifest. On inspection, the containers were found to hold Kirian Minxes. Three dozen Minxes were confiscated still in their containers.
Crew of the vessel were detained and escorted to the infirmary to be treated for lacerations. Officers Grass and Thomas processed the prisoners and also received treatment. Officer Harkin was treated and released.
Two empty containers were found. It is recommended that 3rd shift personnel continue monitoring station sensors for possible remaining Minxes. Security office First Aid kits have been inspected and are in compliance with Station Safety Guidelines. The infirmary has also been alerted and off-duty staff are on-call in the event of attempted Minx capture.
3rd shift officers are to be reminded that lethal force is STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED without written approval from the Station Commander and that such authorization has not, as of yet, been granted.
(Note to personnel scheduler: Additional security personnel might be necessary on 1st shift until Officer Grass regains use of one or the other hand)
