Officer of the Watch Report:

In response to a Station Maintenance Office request, the policy of providing armed escorts to all SMO personnel with duties out of nominally patrolled public spaces is to be retained and extended until further notice. Requests that said escorts be denied access to the heavy weapons locker without approval from the shift supervisor is under consideration.

By order of the Infirmary, the addition of face masks and topical disinfectants/deodorizers are to be included in all station first aid kits. The infirmary also requests armed escorts to accompany infection control crews while they disinfect known minx spaces. The infirmary notes that said crews wil not be active until the SMO completes repairs to station infrastructure and hull integrity in former minx areas.

As required by HID 628 ‘ The Imperial Records Act ‘, notice is given here of a request for all formal documentation pertaining to Kirnian Minxs and the Machine SSO treatment of the same. A copy of the request filed by J. Hempstead for the Imperial Animal Kindness Union is available on request.

Security Entry #43090

2341 – 01.09.2308

Officer of the Watch Report:

As of 1600, Cmdr. Marsh has, in the form of Emergency Declaration 308011, declared active Kirnian Minx suppression operations at an end. This supersedes and replaces the special circumstances outlined in Emergency Declaration 308008. Maintenance crews are to be assigned to repair damage caused during the Incident and dispose of the debris associated with the Minx infestation. Normal shipping will be resumed as of 0800 tomorrow.

In an effort to prevent any future similar outbreaks, armed SSO inspection teams will be required to accompany the CDO when inspecting the living spaces and open cargo containers aboard any and all vessels docking with Machina Station. All animals not possessing valid Imperial work and/or residency permits will be quarantined until cleared by the infirmary and Station Commander’s Office.

Officer of the Watch Report:
By order of the SCO, all shipping has been suspended as of 1430. All vessels currently in dock are requested to submit to a SSO inspection against Kirnian Minx infestation and divert to the nearest port facility.

OFC Grass sent to infirmary pending transport to Marten Medical Wing after assisting IT personnel in inspections of SCO data center. The number of Minxes infesting that area are unavailable as of this report, OFC Grass’ estimate is considered unreliable, as much of the statement was unintelligible due to facial bandages. Much of the remainder of the statement is not being considered germane at this time, being dominated by copious profanity. The SCO Data Center has been sealed and administrative computing has been transferred to the Auxiliary Data Center until further notice.

By order of the SCO, an exhaustive search of all SCO spaces will commence at the beginning of 1st Shift to determine the extent of Minx infestation in that area. All Security office personnel are required to participate. PPE and Riot Gear will be distributed at 0730. Security Office Personnel are encouraged to requisition additional protective equipment at their discretion.

NOTE: Due to a shortage in available computing resources, all adult image and media services are suspended until further notice. All complaints may be directed in writing to SCO-DC staff. Responses to inquiries will be made as computing resources allow.

Security Office OIC orders forwarding any and all complaints regarding the lost storage and/or use of docking slips on the B ring to the Station Commanders Office are still in effect.

A copy of HRN-77H ‘Request for Aid from His Royal Navy’ dated 16.08.2308 (Request #128) is on file with the Station Commander Office after being transmitted at 1641 this shift. A copy of HRN-77X ‘Denial of Aid from His Royal Navy’ (Denial #127) is on file with the Station Commanders Office after being received at 1635 this shift. Pertinent excerpts from this communique include:

Due to the Civilian and Commercial aspects of this biological infestation and not being bound by any treaty requiring intervention, HRN is unable to divert the requested resources at this time. It is the continued recommendation of HRN that lethal force be utilized by the station staff in containing the infestation. The Station Security Office Inventory on file shows abundant resources available for such an undertaking. The Station Commander is encouraged to seek AND FOLLOW the advice of the Station Security Office OIC and HRN in this matter.

(Note to all Security Office Personnel: Emergency Declaration 308008A prohibiting the use of lethal force remains in effect, in accordance with Section 1, Paragraph 1 of the Machina Station SSG.)

Officer of the Watch Report:
Sgt. Penn will return to duty tomorrow as 2nd Shift Officer of the Watch. He will be on limited duty for the next two weeks, or at the Infirmary’s discretion, which ever is longer. This will be enforced by three orderlies with sedatives. Sgt. Penn has been made aware of the conditions of his return to duty and is eager to resume his post.

Security Office personnel will resume regular patrols and schedules over the next 10 shifts as personnel are returned to active duty by the infirmary. Regular detachments to the Customs Duty Officer are expected to resume by 1st shift on the 25th. This should preclude the need for further complaint tickets being filed by the CDO office. Further memos on this matter will be forwarded to the Station Commander’s office and may cause delays in the resumption of security detachments.

At the request of the B-ring dock technicians, Security Office Personnel have been places outside the entrances to cargo bays 02B and 04B. This after reports from dock technicians and visiting crew members of scratching sounds from inside the above cargo bays. Station residents are assured that the shipping containers used for Kirian Minx storage are secure. At the request of Security Office Personnel on duty, Engineering personnel have inspected and confirmed that environmental and logistical conduits have been sealed and that the bay door locks are secure. Further concerns may be forwarded to the Station Commander’s Office.

Officer of the Watch Report:
Station spaced declared clear of Kirian Minxes at 1515. Shipping quarantine lifted as of 1530.

Due to a shortage of containers available for Kirian Minx storage, animals were segregated by sex and stored 2 per 30 cm^3 container. Cargo bay 02B was also designated for Minx storage to reduce dangerously high storage density in cargo bay 04B. Dock personnel detailed with repackaging and handling duties requested and were granted by the Station Commander Hazard pay for the labor related to the Minxes.

Engineering details assisted by Security Office Personnel began a section by section inspection of all spaces outside the Habitation Ring. By order of the Station Commander, all shipping must submit to a complete hull-side inspection to ensure maintenance of Kirian Minx quarantine. All comments or inquiries on this subject are to be forwarded to the Station Commander’s Office.

By order of the Station Commander, the following directive is being placed in the log, in pursuance of Section 1, paragraph 4 of the Machina Station SSG:

All personnel are reminded of Emergency Declaration 308007B which states that Kirian Minxes are quarantined and declared hazardous animals. It is therefor unlawful for any Kirian Minx to be privately held or retained by any personnel as a pet or other form of property. Likewise, the transport and trade of Kirian Minxes is considered unlawful and offenders will be punished to the fullest extent in accordance with the Marten Unlawful Trade Act of 2297.

(Note to Infirmary personnel: Authorization is formally given to keep Sgt. Penn under sedation and restraint to prevent further activity outside of Infirmary recommendations. The duration of this authorization is to be until Sgt. Penn’s sutures heal enough to not be torn by regular Security Office duty activities such as writing reports)

2317 – 14.02.2308

Shipping Log:

SHIPPING SUSPENDED

Officer of the Watch Report:

All docking operations were suspended during 1st shift by the order of the Station Commander. This was due to the discovery of a prodigious rate of procreation of Kirian Minxes. All able officers were called to apprehend the animals.

All non-critical personnel not involved with the capture effort were ordered to their quarters until early 3rd shift when all Minxes were reported accounted for. Sgt. Penn was commended by the Station Commander as having the most captures, with 5 minx cubs captured and 3 infirmary admissions during 1st and 2nd shifts. 11 Minxes in total were captured and placed in bio-hazard containment.

Shuttle service is scheduled to re-commence before 0200, having been detailed as a medical transport to carry infirmary overflow to Marten Control for further treatment. The infirmary reports that Sgt Penn will have recovered full use of his legs and partial eyesight before a commendation ceremony at 1400. Sgt. Penn reports his readiness to resume OTW duties for 2nd shift immediately there after.

(Note to Personnel Scheduler: A labor pool clerk is requested to be assigned to each security shift as soon as possible. Clerks can expect to remain in such positions until sufficient Security Office personnel regain dexterity sufficient to type.)

(Note to Infirmary: Remaining Security Office personnel will be rotated through for treatment for heavy nasal bruising due to adaptive typing techniques)
